LaserDisc Movie Storyline:
The full-feature version of the popular anime, voiced in English by Elizabeth Berkley and Kiefer Sutherland. When humanoid robots living undetected in a Mars colony are targeted for extinction by wild-eyed human vigilantes, bad-ass robotic girl cop Naomi Armitage leads the robots' fight for survival, with help from her human partner.

LaserDisc Movie Review:
This thriller, like Ghost in the Shell and Akira, demonstrates the enormous influence of cyberpunk on the Japanese animated cinema. Armitage even shares its name with a character from William Gibson's 1984 cyberpunk novel, Neuromancer. The story is a direct descendant of Blade Runner; Armitage is a waifish cyborg officer of the Martian police who teams up with a human cop named Ross Sylibus. The partnership is tenuous, as Sylibus is prejudiced against Armitage because his last partner was murdered by another cyborg. Sylibus must reconcile his distrust of Armitage when the two are forced to hunt down a human murderer who has declared war on cyborgs. This full-length feature is compiled from a four-episode series released on video in Japan. The American version features the voice of Elizabeth Berkeley as Armitage opposite Keifer Sutherland as Sylibus. --- Jonathan E. Laxamana
